GLMU is directly under the administration of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Founded in 1935, GLMU was upgraded and renamed as Guilin Medical School in 1958.Approved by the former State Education Committee in 1987, the school was upgraded to a college for medical undergraduates.In 2006, GLMU was authorized to conduct the graduate education and was evaluated and accredited an “Excellent University” by the Ministry of Education of China

The aim of University is to develop advanced Medical personnels with good professional ethics, strong practical abilities, and the spirit of innovation. The students cultivated are with basic knowledge, theories and professional skills of Clinical Medicine, and all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic education, who can adapt themselves to the development of moderan medical and health care in the 21st century and are able to work in the fields of clinical Medicine, preventive health-care, community Medicine and Medical education, etc..

1Le Quan:Le Quan campus is near the Solitary Beauty Peak rising sharply from the ground

2 Dong Cheng :Dong Cheng campus lies in the east bank of the colorful Li River

3 Lin Gui campus.

4:Er Tang campus is being planned and built near the air port
